Hamilton Insurance Group, the Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Dymphna Lehane as Chair of Hamilton Managing Agency Limited (HMA) in the UK and Independent Non-Executive Director of Hamilton InsuraLehane’s appointment will take effect from 1 November 2025. The group also confirmed that Karen Forte will assume the role of Chair of Hamilton InsuraLehane’s appointment is effective from 1 January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
These appointments come in the wake of Peter Haynes’ decision to retire as Chair of both HMA and Hamilton InsuraLehane. Haynes has served in these roles since 2015 and 2020, respectively, and will step down on 31 December 2025.
Lehane brings 35 years of experience in digital strategy and governance across the global insurance industry. Most recently, she held the position of Global Managing Partner for Insurance at Accenture, where she led key strategic initiatives and technology-driven transformations for leading global insurance firms. Her extensive board governance experience includes roles at Aviva, Argo International, Westfield Specialty, and the Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom Government.
In addition, Karen Forte, who is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director on the boards of both HMA and Hamilton InsuraLehane, will step into the role of Chair of HIDAC. Forte’s background includes board-level experience and a strong commitment to transparency and governance. She is the former Chief Information Officer and Transformation Lead at Allianz Ireland.
