Everest Group has announced the appointment of Mr. Elias Habayeb as Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from May 1, 2026. This major leadership change comes as the company continues to strengthen its position in the global financial services sector.
Mr. Habayeb brings over three decades of rich experience in financial leadership, particularly in the insurance and financial services industries. His career has seen him in top-tier CFO roles across several prominent global organisations, including American International Group (AIG), where he led various divisions such as General Insurance and Life & Retirement. His career also includes his tenure as the CFO of International Lease Finance Corporation, a subsidiary of AIG, and as a partner in Deloitte & Touche’s Capital Markets Group.
Most recently, he served as the CFO at Corebridge Financial, where he successfully led the finance and actuarial departments, driving both robust earnings growth and impressive capital returns. His expertise in overseeing complex financial operations is expected to bring significant value to Everest Group.
Mr. Habayeb holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Syracuse University.
He will be succeeding Mr. Mark Kociancic, who has decided to retire after five years of dedicated service. Mr. Kociancic will remain at Everest Group as a special advisor during the transition period, providing valuable guidance to ensure a smooth handover.
With this change in leadership, Everest Group is poised to continue its strategic growth and strengthen its position in the global market under the direction of Mr. Habayeb.
