W. R. Berkley Corporation, a provider of commercial lines property and casualty insurance, has announced the appointment of Hale Johnston as president of Berkley Net, one of its subsidiary companies, with immediate effect.
Johnston succeeds Brian Douglas, who has led Berkley Net since 2018 after joining the company in 2006. Douglas will continue to serve in a key leadership role within W. R. Berkley Corporation.
Previously, Johnston served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Berkley Enterprise Risk Solutions (BERS), where he played a central role in establishing and growing the organisation since its launch in June 2022.
With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Johnston has also held positions on the Board of Governors for the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB) and as Chairman of the Board for the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI).
