Zenith Islamic Life Expands University Insurance Coverage

Zenith Islamic Life Insurance PLC has extended its group life and health insurance programme to include Comilla University (Cu), marking a significant step in enhancing financial and healthcare protection for academic institutions across Bangladesh. With this addition, the number of universities under Zenith Islamic Life’s group insurance scheme rises to eight, providing comprehensive security and medical support to university staff.

The formal signing ceremony took place on Monday, 29 December 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office of Comilla University. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Haider Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Comilla University. Representing the university, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Solaiman signed the agreement, while S.M. Nuruzzaman, CEO of Zenith Islamic Life Insurance PLC, signed on behalf of the insurer.

Under the agreement, all faculty members, officers, and administrative staff of Comilla University will be entitled to benefits under the group insurance programme. The coverage includes:

• Life insurance

• Medical assistance

• Hospitalisation benefits

• Financial support for emergency medical expenses

This programme is designed to provide essential financial security and peace of mind for the university’s workforce, supporting both routine and critical healthcare needs.

The signing ceremony was attended by several senior university officials, including Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Professor Dr. Dulal Chandra Nandi, various faculty deans, Deputy Director (Accounts) Md. Nasir Uddin, and Dr. Mahmudul Hasan Khan (Sohag), Head of the University Medical Centre, alongside other faculty members and staff.

From Zenith Islamic Life Insurance, notable attendees included Md. Abdul Kader, Head of the Organisation, Vice President and Group Insurance Head Md. Anwar Hossain Sarkar, and General Manager Md. Nasir Uddin Majumdar, along with other key officials.
