Desh General Insurance Company Limited has compensated Max Group for losses sustained in a recent fire at the Cargo Village of Shahjalal International Airport. The settlement pertains specifically to two marine cargo claims filed by the conglomerate.
The insurance payout was formally handed over on Sunday by Desh General Insurance’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohammadí Khanum, to Md. Mahmud Husein, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Finance) of Max Group. According to the company, the total settlement amounted to BDT 16,34,276, fully processed after the submission of all required documents and survey reports.
In a press release on Thursday, Desh General Insurance highlighted its consistent commitment to customer satisfaction, stating, “Customer interests are given the highest priority. In continuation of this practice, the company settled insurance claims worth approximately BDT 1.8161 crore across various categories in the previous year.”
The official handover ceremony was attended by key executives from both organisations, including Md. Ziaul Haque, Head of Claims and Reinsurance at Desh General Insurance, and Max Group’s Chief Financial Officers, Md. Shahidul Islam Khan and Khaled Bin Hossain, alongside Deputy General Manager (Technical) Engineer Rahad Ahmed Ruman.
Mohammadí Khanum, CEO of Desh General Insurance, emphasised the company’s commitment to fairness and efficiency, saying, “Our foremost pledge is to settle claims promptly and justly.
