Generali Appoints Giulio Terzariol as Group Deputy CEO After Board Approval

Generali, one of the leading global insurance providers, has officially appointed Giulio Terzariol as its new Group Deputy CEO (Direttore Generale). This announcement, which follows approval from the company’s board, marks a significant leadership transition within the organisation as it embarks on its “Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence” strategy.

The primary aim of this restructuring is to bolster Generali’s governance and improve operational efficiency across its core business segments. Terzariol, who will oversee both the insurance business and Banca Generali, will be tasked with ensuring that these critical areas align with the company’s overarching strategic objectives. His appointment comes at a time when Generali is intensifying its focus on delivering long-term, sustainable growth.

According to the company’s announcement, Terzariol’s appointment will take effect once he successfully passes the Fit & Proper assessment conducted by IVASS, Italy’s insurance supervisory authority. This procedural step is mandatory to ensure that he meets the required standards for such a senior role in the financial industry.

A notable shift in the company’s organisational structure is the discontinuation of the CEO Insurance position. Once Terzariol officially assumes his new role, the CEO Insurance position will be dissolved, consolidating the leadership structure and centralising strategic direction under his stewardship.

This bold restructuring is seen as an important step in Generali’s mission to enhance its market presence and drive operational excellence across all business units.
