Fishers Community Centre (FCC), in collaboration with IU Health, has inaugurated a new insurance-based membership programme, commencing Monday, 9 February. This initiative is designed to provide eligible participants with opportunities to maintain their health, enhance physical fitness, and engage socially, all without the financial burden of monthly or joining fees. The programme is directly covered through health insurance, ensuring participants can access FCC’s facilities without any out-of-pocket cost.
The insurance-based membership encompasses several nationally recognised wellness programmes, including:
-
SilverSneakers
-
Renew Active
-
Silver&Fit
-
Prime
-
Active&Fit Enterprise
Through these programmes, members are entitled to full access to FCC’s amenities, identical to standard membership benefits. A summary of key facilities is presented in the table below:
| Facility | Details |

| Group Exercise Classes | Over 90 classes including Yoga, Zumba, and Spinning |

Mike Lindbloom, Director of FCC, highlighted the significance of this initiative: “This partnership eliminates financial barriers, allowing more individuals to benefit from modern wellness facilities. Through fitness, aquatics, social engagement, and mental health support, we aim to enrich every member of our community.”
Situated near Hoosier Road, FCC spans 105,000 square feet and opened last autumn. It houses the city’s first public indoor walking track, the Sahms Community Café, and a two-level indoor play area supported by Riley Children’s Health. Additionally, the Fishers Health Department clinic on-site provides COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, travel-related immunisations, screenings, and other preventive health services.
Registration for the insurance-based membership can be completed directly at FCC. To assist residents, a registration office will operate in the Community Room and Program Room 1 daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM until 13 February.
This new insurance-based membership programme opens a fresh horizon for Fishers residents, promoting health, fitness, and social connectivity, and fostering a more active and vibrant community for all.
