National Life Insurance Company Limited has officially settled the group life insurance death claims of two deceased members of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). The financial disbursement was executed in strict accordance with the group insurance agreement established between the insurance provider and the journalists’ organisation.
The formal settlement ceremony took place on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at the Shofiqul Kabir Auditorium within the DRU premises. During the proceedings, two separate bank cheques, each valued at BDT 300,000, were formally presented to the bereaved families of the late DRU members, Nikhil Mankhin and Shyamal Kanti Nag. The combined total of the disbursed insurance claims amounted to BDT 600,000.
