Brighton-based specialist insurer Ansvar Insurance has successfully concluded its bold and innovative initiative, ‘£25k in 25’, raising a total of £25,216 to benefit 16 national and local charities across the UK.
Primarily serving clients in the charity, not-for-profit, faith-based, and care sectors, Ansvar launched this employee-led fundraising campaign in January 2025. The aim was ambitious yet simple: to generate £25,000 solely through the initiative and ingenuity of its staff.
The campaign was inspired by employee Shaun Utting, and over the course of the year, the Ansvar team undertook a wide array of physical and community-based challenges. Highlights included:
-
Open water swimming
-
Marathon running
-
Company bake-offs
-
Knitting poppies for the Poppy Appeal
A standout moment of the campaign was a charity football match involving Ansvar and its broker partners, held at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium in May. This single event alone raised £10,460 for Esteem, a local charity dedicated to empowering young people and fostering resilient communities.
As the campaign drew to a close, two employees, Fran Leadbetter and Julienne Jones, participated in the Big Sleep Out in Brighton during December. The event raised both funds and awareness for homelessness support services, highlighting the company’s commitment to vulnerable groups.
The fundraising drive has supported a diverse spectrum of beneficiaries, including children, young people, older adults, veterans, and those facing serious illness or poverty.
Samantha Sanderson, Ansvar’s Marketing Executive, said:
“We are thrilled to have achieved our target and are immensely proud of our team’s energy and creativity. Every pound raised will make a real difference, from local Sussex communities to national charities. This initiative shows what can be accomplished when people come together for a good cause.”
Ansvar’s efforts reflect its broader social responsibility ethos and the principles of Benefact Group, ensuring that a significant portion of profits is reinvested into social development.
