National Life Insurance has successfully disbursed insurance claims amounting to Tk37.5 crore to policyholders in the Greater Dhaka area. The cheque distribution took place on Saturday, 20 December, during the company’s annual year-end planning meeting at Fantasy Kingdom in Ashulia. The event saw a significant turnout of the company’s valued customers and development officers.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the company’s Chairman, Mr. Tofazzal Hossain, as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Md. Kazim Uddin. Special guests included Additional Managing Director Mr. Khosru Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Abul Kashem and Mr. Khurshid Alam Patowari, Assistant Managing Director Mr. Bahar Uddin Majumdar, Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Enamul Haq, Senior Vice President Mr. Monir Ahmed, and Takaful Central Coordinator Mr. G.M. Helal Uddin.
Nearly 5,000 development officers from the Greater Dhaka area attended the event, highlighting the company’s extensive network and commitment to customer engagement.
In his address, Chairman Tofazzal Hossain emphasised the pivotal role of insurance in Bangladesh’s economic development. “Insurance mobilises significant financial resources which, through the banking sector, are invested in industry and commerce. This, in turn, generates substantial employment opportunities. National Life alone makes a notable contribution to the country’s economic growth,” he said.
CEO Md. Kazim Uddin underscored the company’s commitment to prompt claim settlement. “National Life prioritises the timely payment of customer claims. On average, we disburse over Tk100 crore in claims every month. By 2025, we expect our cumulative claim settlements to reach Tk1,500 crore,” he noted.
The event also included an award ceremony recognising the outstanding contributions of the company’s insurance officers. Officials expressed optimism that 2025 would see further improvements in customer satisfaction and an expansion of insurance services nationwide.
