He began his career in 2002 with Airbus Group and has since held senior management positions at Bouygues, AXA, and SCOR Group, where he led operational strategies and managed key strategic projects.

Nguyen joined BNP Paribas Cardif in 2020 as Chief Information Officer and later became Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, he focused on driving operational efficiency, overseeing technology strategy, and managing core business operations. Nguyen holds degrees from Pierre and Marie Curie Paris University, HEC Paris, Mines ParisTech, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Nicolas Villet, previously Deputy CEO and head of strategy for Asia, will now take on the role of Chief Executive Officer for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). Villet, who joined BNP Paribas Cardif in 2013, has held several leadership roles including CFO and Deputy CEO for Asia. He is a graduate of Ecole des Mines and HEC Paris.

Zurich Insurance Group Appoints Megan Shao as Chief Claims Officer, Asia-Pacific

Zurich Insurance Group has announced Megan Shao as the new Chief Claims Officer for Asia-Pacific, effective 1 February 2026. Shao rejoins Zurich after serving as Head of Claims, Asia, at AXA XL. She previously held the position of Head of Financial Lines & Casualty Claims, Asia-Pacific, at Zurich.

In her new role, Shao will lead Zurich’s claims operations across the Asia-Pacific region, with an emphasis on refining claims strategy and enhancing customer service standards. She will be based in Singapore and report directly to Sean Walker, Head of Commercial Insurance & Chief Technical Officer for Asia-Pacific.

“We are delighted to welcome Megan back to Zurich,” said Walker. “Her experience, leadership, and technical expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our claims services for customers across the region.”

Shao is expected to work closely with Zurich’s claims teams across Asia-Pacific to improve the company’s approach to claims management and customer engagement. She holds degrees from Boston University School of Law and Chinese Culture University in Taipei.
